Surat Pastoral Uskup Cornelius Piong: Pesta Tubuh dan Darah Kristus (Corpus Christi)

Rev. Fathers, Religius Brothers dan Sisters, Seminarians, Komuniti ISKB, Katekis, Pengerusi dan ahli-ahli TPK, MPP, MPM, KWK, KBK, KKD, Komiti, Komuniti  dan Saudara Saudari yang saya kasihi dalam Kristus.

Di mana dan bagaimana kita dapat menemui peribadi Yesus? 

Apa tanggapan kita terhadap pesan dan jaminan Yesus bahawa Dia akan menyertai kita sampai akhir zaman? (Mat.28:20).

Sebelum Yesus disengsarakan, disalib dan mati secara fizikal Dia memang hadir kepada orang-orang yang Dia temui, tetapi sesudah bangkit dari mati dan kembali kepada Bapa bagaimana Dia hadir dan menyertai kita? Apakah kita sungguh yakin dan mengalami kehadiran  dan penyertaan-Nya seperti yang telah dijanjikan-Nya?

Hari ini kita merayakan Hari Minggu Tubuh dan Darah Kristus yang menjadi ungkapan cinta kasih, kehadiran dan tempat kesediaan-Nya untuk dihubungi atau ditemui oleh kita, umat-Nya. Pesta Tubuh dan Darah Kristus ini membawa kita mengingati apa yang telah dilakukan Yesus pada malam Perjamuan Terakhir bersama para Rasul-Nya. Dia mengambil roti dan anggur, dikuduskan-Nya menjadi Tubuh dan Darah-Nya menjadi makanan dan minuman rohani bagi kita para pengikut-Nya. Peristiwa Perjamuan malam terakhir itu diteruskan oleh Gereja untuk menghadirkan dan mengenangkan Yesus setiap kali perayaan Ekaristi atau Misa Kudus dirayakan bersama Umat. Kita Gereja Katolik sungguh percaya kepada kehadiran Yesus dalam Ekaristi.

Perayaan Ekaristi adalah sangat istimewa bagi kita umat Katolik sebagai tempat dan kesempatan bertemu dengan Yesus. Pertama, Yesus hadir di tengah-tengah Umat yang berkumpul atas nama-Nya untuk merayakan Misa Kudus, (Mat. 18:20). Kedua, Yesus hadir melalui sabda-Nya, kerana setiap kali sabda Tuhan diwartakan Kristus sendirilah yang berbicara (Kons tentang Liturgi Suci, 7). Ketiga, Yesus hadir melalui Sakramen Tubuh dan Darah-Nya, (1Kor. 11:23-29). Kehadiran Yesus melalui Tubuh dan Darah-Nya dilanjutkan oleh Gereja pula dengan menyimpan Sakramen Mahakudus untuk Ibadat Komuni pada Hari Minggu di stasi luar, untuk orang-orang sakit yang memerlukan dan untuk Saat Teduh dan Adorasi.

Sebenarnya Yesus hadir melalui Sakramen-sakramen Pembaptisan, Krisma, Ekaristi, Tobat, Pengurapan Orang Sakit, Imamat  dan Perkahwinan. Namun sakramen-sakramen yang sangat kita perlukan sepanjang perjalanan hidup dan Iman adalah Ekaristi dan Sakramen Tobat. Kerana sepertimana dikatakan Yesus, “Akulah Roti yang memberi hidup. Setiap orang yang datang kepada-Ku tidak  akan lapar dan setiap orang yang percaya kepada-Ku tidak akan dahaga selama-lamanya”, (Yoh. 6:35). Kesatuan dan kesetiaan kita dengan Yesus memberi kita hidup dalam iman, harapan dan cinta kasih. Dialah yang memberi erti kepada segala perjuangan dan pengorbanan kita menjadi tidak sia-sia. Namun kita perlu mengambil sikap dan budaya datang dan percaya kepada Dia, mendengar serta melakukan Sabda-Nya (Luk. 6: 47-49). Sikap datang dan percaya terhadap kehadiran Yesus dalam Ekaristi, Adorasi dan Saat Teduh dan semua Sakramen perlu ada pada kita supaya kita dapat menemui Dia.

Marilah kita menyedari dan bersyukur kerana Yesus sendiri memberi kita Roh Kudus-Nya supaya kita mampu memahami, menghargai dan mencintai kehadiran-Nya melalui cara yang baru, yang ditunjukkan-Nya sebelum Dia kembali kepada Bapa di syurga (Yoh.13:1;14:25-26). Harapan kita agar pertemuan kita dengan Yesus melalui Ekaristi akan mendorong kita mahu mengenali Dia seterusnya melalui sesama kita dan alam ciptaan Tuhan, (Mat. 25:40). Marilah kita meneruskan usaha kita mengenal, mengasihi dan melayani Yesus melalui Misa Kudus, Adorasi dan Saat Teduh.

Saudara saudari, dalam masa PKPP (10 Jun – 31 Ogos 2020) kita sudah dibenarkan mengadakan Misa Kudus dan Ibadat dalam gereja dan chapel dengan syarat-syarat dan ketetapan-ketetapan tertentu (SOP) yang harus dipatuhi. Oleh itu sentiasa patuhi SOP yang ditetapkan oleh MKN dan KKM.
