First reading Acts 4:13-21

We cannot promise to stop proclaiming what we have seen and heard

The rulers, elders and scribes were astonished at the assurance shown by Peter and John, considering they were uneducated laymen; and they recognised them as associates of Jesus; but when they saw the man who had been cured standing by their side, they could find no answer. So they ordered them to stand outside while the Sanhedrin had a private discussion. ‘What are we going to do with these men?’ they asked. ‘It is obvious to everybody in Jerusalem that a miracle has been worked through them in public, and we cannot deny it. But to stop the whole thing spreading any further among the people, let us caution them never to speak to anyone in this name again.’

So they called them in and gave them a warning on no account to make statements or to teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John retorted, ‘You must judge whether in God’s eyes it is right to listen to you and not to God. We cannot promise to stop proclaiming what we have seen and heard.’ The court repeated the warnings and then released them; they could not think of any way to punish them, since all the people were giving glory to God for what had happened.

Gospel Mark 16:9-15

Go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News

Having risen in the morning on the first day of the week, Jesus appeared first to Mary of Magdala from whom he had cast out seven devils. She then went to those who had been his companions, and who were mourning and in tears, and told them. But they did not believe her when they heard her say that he was alive and that she had seen him.

After this, he showed himself under another form to two of them as they were on their way into the country. These went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.

Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them for their incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. And he said to them, ‘Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation.’

Reflection
Acts 4:13-21, Mark 16:9-15

“Jesus trust us and so, He calls us for mission”
Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdala. She went to His disciples but they did not believe her. Then, Jesus showed Himself to the two disciples of Emmaus. These two went back to the disciples, but they did not believe in them too. Lastly, Jesus Himself appeared to His doubting disciples and even reproached them for “their incredulity and obstinacy”. What did Jesus do next? The gospel stated that He entrusted to these disciples the mission to go out and continue His mission of proclaiming the Good News of God’s love.

We might find ourselves lukewarm in our faith. We might be struggling with doubts about God and His love. We might be going through the motions of our faith. Yet, Jesus continues to approach us in order to encounter us and renew His call for us to be His disciples. His faithful love never stops believing and trusting in us. Today, He tells us, “Go and proclaim the Good News to all!”

Questions for reflection:
Do I identify myself with the 11 disciples in today’s gospel passage? Am I open to allow Jesus to transform me today?

Kisah Para Rasul 4:13-21, Markus 16:9-15

“Yesus mempercayai kita, oleh itu Dia memanggil kita kepada sebuah misi”
Yesus pertama kali muncul kepada Maria Magdalena. Dia kemudian pergi menyampaikan khabar itu kepada para murid-Nya namun mereka tidak percaya kepadanya. Kemudian, Yesus menunjukkan diri kepada dua murid di Emmaus. Kedua murid ini kemudian kembali untuk menyampaikan khabar itu kepada para murid yang lain, namun para murid tidak juga mempercayai mereka. Akhirnya Yesus menunjukkan diri-Nya kepada para murid-Nya yang ragu-ragu itu dan bahkan menegur mereka kerana “ketidakpercayaan dan kebodohan mereka”. Apakah tindakan Yesus selanjutnya? Injil menyatakan bahawa Yesus mempercayakan para murid-Nya misi untuk keluar dan meneruskan misi-Nya untuk mewartakan Khabar Baik tentang kasih Allah.

Kita mungkin mendapati iman kita tidak mempunyai semangat. Kita mungkin berjuang dengan keraguan kita tentang Tuhan dan kasih-Nya. Kita mungkin melalui pelbagai perjuangan dalam iman kita. Namun Yesus terus mendekati kita agar dapat bertemu dengan kita dan memperbaharui panggilan-Nya bagi kita untuk menjadi murid-Nya. Kasih-Nya yang setia tidak pernah berhenti mempercayai dan yakin terhadap kita. Hari ini Dia menyatakan kepada kita, “Pergilah dan beritakanlah Khabar Baik kepada seluruh dunia!”.

Soalan renungan:
Adakah saya melihat diri saya seperti kesebelas para murid dalam petikan injil hari ini? Adakah saya terbuka untuk membenarkan Yesus mengubah hidup saya hari ini?

Renungan
Kereja Rasul 4:13-21; Mark 16:9-15

“Jesus arap ka kitai nya kebuah Iya ngangauka kitai ngereja pengawa.”
Keterubah nya Jesus pegari ngagai Maria Madelina. Iya lalu bejalai ngagai Murid Jesus ka bukai nusi utai ti dipeda iya tang sida enda arap ka iya. Udah nya, Jesus mandangka Diri ngagai dua iko Murid ari Emmaus. Seduai mega nusi utai ti udah nyadi ngagai bala Murid, tang sida enda pecaya ka jako seduai. Pengujong nya, Jesus mandangka Diri ngagai murid lalu negur sida Iya laban sida mengkang enda arap. Nama diaduka Jesus udah nya? Iya meri sida pengawa bejalai merita ka Berita Manah pengerindu Allah Taala.

Kitai tentu ngasai agi kakang ati dalam pengarap kitai. Kitai engka agi bisi macham pengakang bukai pasal Allah Taala enggau Pengerindu Iya. Kitai engka agi tetanya pasal pengarap kktai. Tang Jesus seruran mansang ngagai kitai awak ulih meda sereta ngemaru kangau Iya ka kitai nyadi Murid Iya. Penalok pengerindu Iya enda badu ari arap sereta andal ka kitai. Saritu, Iya bejako, “Bejalai meh lalu nusi Berita Manah ka semua bansa!”

Kati aku ulih nyema diri enggau 11 iko murid ba bacha Injil saritu? Bisi aku meri awak ka Jesus ngubah aku saritu?

省思

《谷十六：9-15》

“耶稣信任我们及召唤我们履行使命”

耶稣首先出现在玛利亚玛达肋纳的面前。她前去门徒那里并且告知了他们，可是他们不相信她。不久之后，耶稣在两位门徒回到厄玛乌的路上显现了。他们也回到门徒那里去并且告知了他们所遇到的事迹，但是门徒们也不相信他们所说的一切。最后，耶稣自己出现在这些满腹质疑的门徒们，而且还为“他们的怀疑及固执”而斥责了他们。接下来，耶稣做了什么呢？福音的篇章指出，耶稣交托了这些门徒到外去及继承祂的使命，向世界宣扬天主爱的喜讯。

我们的信德或许已经变得不愠不火了。我们也或许对天主和祂的爱怀有疑虑进而在内心里无比挣扎。我们也或许经历了信德的起起落落。然而，耶稣持续地接近我们，就是为了邂逅我们及翻新我们作为祂门徒的召唤。祂忠诚的爱不曾停止相信我们和信任我们。今天，祂告诉我们，“出去吧及向世上所有的人事物宣扬喜讯吧！”

省思题：
我是否认为自己就像是今天福音篇章里的十一位门徒呢？今天的我是否允许耶稣让我得到转型呢？
